Withdrawal Policy

Pakistan Journal of History and Civilization recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw their manuscripts after submission. To maintain the integrity and efficiency of the publication process, the journal has established the following withdrawal guidelines:

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

  • Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript at any time before the peer review process begins.

  • Such requests should be submitted in writing to the editorial office, clearly stating the reason for withdrawal.

  • No penalties or fees will be applied for withdrawals made prior to peer review.

Withdrawal During or After Peer Review

  • Withdrawal requests submitted after the manuscript has entered peer review will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Authors must provide a valid and compelling reason for withdrawal.

  • The journal reserves the right to refuse withdrawal requests if they believe the process has progressed significantly or ethical concerns exist.

  • In cases where withdrawal is approved after peer review, authors may be subject to restrictions on submitting to the journal again for a defined period.

Withdrawal After Acceptance or Publication

  • Withdrawal of manuscripts after acceptance or publication is strongly discouraged and will only be permitted under exceptional circumstances (e.g., discovery of serious errors or ethical issues).

  • Such cases will be evaluated thoroughly, and if approved, may result in formal retraction or removal of the article.

Ethical Considerations

  • Authors are reminded that withdrawing manuscripts without valid reasons after peer review or acceptance may negatively impact the journal’s editorial workflow and peer reviewers’ efforts.

  • The journal encourages clear communication and transparency throughout the submission process to minimize withdrawal incidents.
